Fall Provincial Election Letters 2011
The Centre for ADHD Awareness, Canada (CADDAC) has developed a set of questions for parties and their candidates addressing some of the issues that concern families impacted by ADHD. The provinces that will be involved in the campaign are Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, PEI, and New Foundland/Labrador.

The questions address two major areas: access to assessment, diagnosis and comprehensive treatment and ADHD and education

The purpose of these questions for the parties and candidates is to:
  • Build awareness about ADHD issues;
  • Build relationships with candidates who identify themselves as being interested in these issues;
  • Determine commitments for action on ADHD issues should the leader or candidate form the next government; and
  • Move forward with actions that leaders and candidates pledge during the campaign when the next provincial legislature begins.
Letters containing these questions and a request for a response by September the 23rd are being sent to all major parties.

Responses from the parties will be posted on www.caddac.ca

CADDAC is also requesting that families impacted by ADHD ask one or more of these questions of their local candidates. During the campaign, candidates will canvass their constituents door-to-door, on the telephone, and at candidates’ meetings and debates.  Any connection with a candidate is an opportunity to ask one or more of these questions to build relationships, and determine commitments for action. If you speak with the candidates in a face-to-face opportunity or over the telephone, you may choose to utilize the talking points or the questionnaire we have supplied below:

Please access a list of questions to ask your official here.
